Anc Normal Value. Compare the results against the following five interpretation rules. An anc less than 1500 cells µl is defined as neutropenia and increases risk of infection. After chemotherapy radiation or a blood or marrow transplant the anc is usually depressed and then slowly rises reflecting the fact that the bone marrow is recovering and new blood cells are beginning to grow and mature. A value above 1 000 mm3 usually means it s safe to continue chemotherapy.
Anc higher than 2000 cells μl. The reference range for anc in adults varies by study but 1500 to 8000 cells per microliter is typical. However once the count starts going below 1500 the problem would start. Neutropenia refers to an abnormally low anc. You need to check the anc value.
